Karl Lagerfeld Designs Most Expensive Safe – Narcissus

The highest level of craftsmanship, absolute technical perfection, the most precious materials and opulent optics have always been the ingredients of each Döttling safe. Now a further facet has been added with the inspiration, creative spirit and brilliance of Karl Lagerfeld.

Designed by probably the most gifted designer of our time, a spectacular high-security safe was developed on paper in Paris, which the specialists at Döttling in Maichingen then built for the coming generations.

A puristic room installation at first glance, the safe only reveals its capabilities when it identifies its owner and has been activated by him or her. Then two handcrafted interior cabinets containing watch winders and jewelry drawers emerge from its steal body, which weighs 800 kilos and is sheathed in high-glass, chrome-plated aluminum. Completely automatically, as if controlled by an invisible hand.

The masterpiece, with its fully reflective surfaces, pays tribute to the personality and aesthetics of its counterpart when closed, enshrining all that is of highest value to its owner impregnable in its interior.

This highly innovative safe makes a very personal statement on a public figure who has made and continues to make history in the worlds of fashion and photography. Naturally, the first model is reserved for its crèatur, Karl Lagerfeld, who photographed it personally.

The arguably most modern and expensive coffer-fort in the world will be irrevocably limited to a small production run of 30 specimens.
